This volume is an up-to-date compendium on virtually all known disorders of lipid metabolism, which the author groups under his own term, "the dyslipidoses." His approach is direct and developed in such a fashion that the reader easily grasps each subject discussed. After an excellent presentation of current concepts of the biochemistry and metabolism of lipids, Dr. Fleischmajer systematically considers each lipid disorder, presenting the clinical entities with appropriate case reports and discussing them with regard to pathologic physiology, genetics, and treatment.
