Abstract

To the Editor:—  I am obliged to note the earliest description of the tumor which Pinkus and I described under the title of "The Histogenesis of Nevoid Tumors of the Skin: The Folliculoma—a Hair Follicle Tumor," Arch. Derm. 81:922, 1960, was given by Miescher, Dermatologica 89:193, 1944. Interestingly enough, he called this tumor Trichofolliculoma. The article, incidentally, was in French, which, of course, is not an excuse for overlooking it.
