Although this was a domestic affair—sponsored by the Mexican Society of Dermatology and to be held every two years in different cities—the Congress drew a large number of dermatologists from Central America and several physicians from the United States, among whom Dr. Orlando Canizares, Dr. Paul W. Greeley, and Dr. Maximilian E. Obermayer were Guests of Honor. Dr. Rafael Andrade, Dr. George L. Fite, Dr. Maximilian E. Obermayer, and Dr. J. Walter Wilson presided at their respective sections of oncology, leprosy, psychocutaneous medicine, and mycology.

The sessions took place in the splendid Casa de Cultura, a modern building embellished with murals and well equipped for the purpose. The organization of the Congress was in the hands of Dr. Jose Barba Rubio, Dr. Raul Aceves Ortega, and Dr. Gloria Perez Suarez, to whom credit is due for its scientific and social success.
