This book is a collection of papers presented at the seventh annual clinical conference on cancer held at the M. D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute in 1962. The book is divided into three sections; etiology and epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment. As in most collections of papers presented at meetings, some chapters are considerably more informative than others. For the most part, however, the papers in the sections on etiology and epidemiology and on diagnosis provide an up-to-date review of some aspects of the problem. Except for a rational summary of the approach to the therapy of skin cancer presented by Urbach, Lamp, and Robbins and a presentation of the results of regional perfusion in the treatment of malignant melanomas by Stehlin, the section on therapy is of little value.
