A case of pemphigus erythematosus is presented in which the history suggested exacerbation resulting from exposure to sunlight. The lesions were reproduced clinically and histologically with ultraviolet light of the sunburn spectrum (280-320 mμ) on the apparently normal skin of previously unexposed sites. Such a demonstration has not been previously reported.
