Factitial Scalp Lesions Resembling CylindromaReport of Two Cases

Arch Dermatol. 1965;91(4):345-346. doi:10.1001/archderm.1965.01600100061015
Abstract

Two cases of multiple scalp tumors clinically resembling the nodules of cylindromas are reported. They seemed to result from trauma to the scalp and were characterized microscopically by a pleomorphic granulomatous infiltrate and a foreign body dermal reaction to the incarcerated hairs. The condition is distinct from turban tumor and keloid folliculitis.
