Dr Fellner sent a copy of his letter to me and I replied as follows:"I want to thank you for sending me a copy of the letter to be published in the Archives of Dermatology."If you were to write the entire paragraph as in Dr. Porter's and my paper, we would be in complete agreement. In penicillin sensitivity, `penicillenic acid' is an antigenic determinant and can combine, as you show so beautifully in your chart, with various groups to produce one of the final antigenic structures, benzylpenicilloyl."I think your letter is an excellent one and will help to clarify this rather complicated field. I certainly agree that most of the basic pioneering work has been done by Dr. Levine and his group."Since Dr. Fellner's letter is being published, the paragraph concerned should be published to avoid taking the meaning of the sentence out
