Abstract

In view of enthusiastic reports concerning the use of dimethyl sulfoxide in scleroderma, a clinical trial with this agent was carried out. Twenty-four patients with systemic scleroderma were treated with local applications of dimethylsulfoxide. Under the conditions of this study, no improvement of any of the parameters studied was noted.
