In a double-blind controlled study, triamcinolone acetonide in flexible collodion was found to be effective in a variety of dermatoses. The preparation has been found particularly useful in the smaller, circumscribed, and recalcitrant lesions of atopic dermatitis, lichen simplex chronicus, discoid lupus erythematosus, lichen planus, nummular eczema, and psoriasis, especially when these lesions are located in areas such as the face, ears, elbows, and other areas which are difficult to treat with the usual occlusive methods.
