Abstract

This is the first reported case of horizontal green stripes of the fingernails produced by paronychial infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The periodicity of the linear coloration corresponded to clinical episodes of infection. Growth of the causative organism from the green portion of the nail plate was accomplished on suitable bacteriologic media.
