I WAS asked by Dr. George Hambrick and the chairman of the Residency Review Committee to make a few comments in regard to the function of the committee as well as the minimal requirements of a training program. It is very possible that there are a number of younger academicians in the audience who are not aware of the fact that this committee was formed in 1955. It has been extremely active since that time and appears to have much more work to be done in the future. Of the eight members, four are from the American Medical Association's Council of Medical Education and Hospitals and the other four are from the American Board of Dermatology. Those of you who are directors of services know that at regular intervals it is necessary to complete the rather lengthy form giving a complete survey of your department. I should add that the
