To the Editor.—
I appreciated Dr. Faustino Gomez's interest and comments (December 1968) concerning my article "Der matologic Spanish" which appeared in the Archives (98:47 [July] 1968).If he prefers to ask his patients if their recurrences are related to contact with chemical substances (sustancias químicas) instead of chemicals (químicas), or to use illness (enfermedad) instead of condition (estado), etc, then that is his privilege. However, the paper, as is, fulfills the purpose for which it was written, "that it will be possible for the dermatologist to take a fairly complete history without knowing a word of Spanish, if he utilizes the material that is presented herein."
