The Incidence of Skin Cancer in Southern Arizona (Tucson)

Abstract

A frequency of 422 skin cancers per 100,000 population, documented by positive biopsy counts occurred in the area of southern Arizona serviced by the city of Tucson. The figure is 20% above the highest reported for any area previously, and 34% above the highest documented report in the literature.
