Dr. Libery Ajello.—Dr. Libery Ajello, Chief of the Mycology Section, Microbiology Branch, Laboratory Division of the Center for Disease Control, Atlanta, was recently elected President of the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology at the Fifth Congress held in Paris, France, on July 5 through 10, 1971. The Secretary-General of the organization is Dr. James C. Gentles, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland.
Dr. Ajello is married to the former Gloria Wolfe and obtained his undergraduate and PhD degrees from Columbia University, New York. He is a member of Sigma Xi, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Microbiology. In addition to his duties as Chief of the Mycology Section, he serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Emory University Medical School and as an instructor in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
