To the Editor.—  It rather shocked my aesthetic sensibility to see Dr. Albert Kligman's Letter to the Editor which appeared in the February 1972, issue of the Archives. His letter describing "postcontraceptive acne" used the term "pimple" on three occasions. Moreover, the editors compounded this slip into lay vulgarity by entitling the letter, "Pimples Following the `Pill'." In neither case was the word used in quotation marks or italicized.Should we not be as careful with the language in our communications as we are with its scientific content?
