The 12th edition of the ever popular Merck Manual is now available and is recommended for the library of every dermatologist. Section 19 dealing with dermatology is only 62 pages long and dermatologists should know much more than is contained here; however, the other sections, about 25 in all, present a brief, accurate summation of current knowledge of practically all aspects of general medicine which the dermatologist may encounter in his daily practice. Many of these sections contain material of dermatologic importance.
More than 140 physicians served as authors under the editorship of Drs. David N. Holvey and John H. Talbott. The type face, while small, is read easily; the tables and figures are readily understandable, and numerous cross references are given.
