To the Editor.—
I have recently read Dr. Kenneth E. Greer's article titled "Epidermal Inclusion Cyst of the Sole" in the Archives (109:251,1974).In Dr. Greer's article, he mentions that these lesions are rare. I would like to state that these lesions are not rare and that they are frequently seen on the plantar surfaces of the foot. In 1971,I reported three cases in the Journal of the American Podiatry Association, and since then have had several other cases. There have also been several other cases reported in the podiatric literature.I would recommend that in the writing of future dermatology articles specifically involving the foot, authors should refer to some of the podiatric literature.
