To the Editor.—
I'd like to make a little bet, even though I will surely not be around to collect my winnings—or pay my losses. It's this: that in the next 25 years, spelling Darier's disease (or misspelling it!) as "Darier disease" is not going to make it be "Darier disease." Editorially, with this cute little ink-saving device, we are paddling up a mighty strong stream with a little bitty paddle. Why don't we knock it off?
