This, the third volume of this encyclopedic treatise on diseases of the mouth, was to be the last volume. However, the authors tell us in the introduction that a fourth volume will be needed to finish this monumental undertaking. There has been some repetition, but this does not detract greatly from the overall value of the texts to date. The third volume complements the previous two works, and together they should serve as a complete primer and atlas of oral diseases.
The third volume is 973 pages long (exclusive of index) and is divided into eight chapters that cover primary diseases of the various oral structures, malformation and dysplasias, congenital and hereditary malformations and dysplasias, metabolic diseases with oral manifestations, connective tissue disorders, endocrine diseases, facial and cephalic neuralgias, psychiatric disorders, and blood disorders.
The book is generously endowed with charts and clinical photographs, which generally are of superior quality
