To the Editor.—
"Pilomatrixoma" is just as incorrect as "appendixitis" would be, and for just the same reason, the root ends in "c", not "x". Drs Gregg and Cannon (Archives 113:232) had the example of at least one of their three references before them, but were not warned.Perhaps it would be a good idea to have someone edit LETTERS TO THE EDITOR, for the protection of the contributors thereto and of the reputation of American physicians for writing correctly.
