Our article was written before we received the excellent paper by Saurat et al.1 Unfortunately, the procedure of submittal, review, revision, and final acceptance of a manuscript sometimes entails several months. I apologize for not having had the opportunity to acknowledge and refer to the article by Saurat et al. I feel compelled to disclose to Saurat et al that their article was actually published in volume 93 (p 675) of the British Journal of Dermatology, even though the journal incorrectly has the volume number as 92.Most importantly, the comments by Saurat and Gluckman are appreciated and indeed relevant. Their finding of satellite cell necrosis in each of their 17 cases of GVHR after bone marrow transplantation, even though epidermal cell necrolysis without a satellite mononuclear cell was more frequent, is an important, helpful, and distinguishing histopathological feature.
