To the Editor.—
You made a wise decision when you reprinted Alfred Soffer's excellent editorial, "Are Medical Journals Obsolete?," in your February issue (114:187,1978). Nevertheless, the first sentence in the editorial frightens me because I had not previously felt engulfed by anything, and I would have preferred that the writer's last sentence state "...limit the ability of physicians to maintain high standards of practice." Somehow I doubt that practitioners can practice standards.
