First, we had the treatment of psoriasis with dialysis.1 Subsequently, psoriasis was reported to clear after cardiopulmonary bypass for cardiac surgery2 and after plasmapheresis.3 Investigators have described an "X factor" that has been reported to decrease 70% to 90% after dialysis.4So much for the good news. Now we have reports of the development of psoriasis during dialysis5 and the results of hemodialysis in a controlled trial of the treatment of psoriasis that showed a substantial subjective improvement but no changes in objective values at any time.6To this network of case reports, anecdotes, and controlled trials, I
