Korting, of the University of Mainz, West Germany, presents volume 4, the last of his series of four German language textbooks. Korting is one of the leading German academicians in dermatology. He and 45 European experts in their respective fields collaborated on this modern treatise.
This volume is divided into the following four parts: (1) proliferative and granulomatous skin diseases, benign and malignant tumors of the skin, pediatric and geriatric dermatology, and some dermatoses in small domestic animals, (2) venereal diseases, eg, gonorrhea, syphilis, lymphogranuloma inguinale, frambesia, pinta, and granuloma inguinale, (3) nonvenereal genital diseases, and (4) andrology, a subject not included in American textbooks of dermatology. This comprehensive volume also covers subjects such as fertility disorders, chromosomal and hormonal diagnosis, and artificial insemination. An addendum deals with three entities not discussed in the preceding parts of this volume—Günther's disease (congenital erythropoietic porphyria), acanthosis nigricans, and chancroid.
