Abstract

REPORT OF A CASE  A 33-year-old man was admitted to the hospital for evaluation of a seizure disorder, when he was noted to have multiple lesions on his face. A lesion had first developed on the left side of his nose when he was six years old. Since that time, many similar asymptomatic lesions had gradually appeared on his face. There was no family history of skin disorders.Physical examination revealed numerous individual and confluent, round, flesh-colored, papules and nodules distributed symmetrically over the forehead, nose, nasolabial folds, chin, and external ears (Figs 1 through 3). Telangiectases were present on the surface of some of the lesions, but none was ulcerated. Additional findings of the cutaneous examination were normal. A biopsy of one of the facial lesions was performed, and representative histologic sections are shown in Figs 4 and 5.What is your diagnosis?
