The State of the Archives

The Archives is a member of the "family of journals" published by the American Medical Association (AMA). It is a unique familial relationship, now visibly expressed by the logo at the top of the second page of the table of contents. In addition, there are new links between these publications, designed to enhance the journal and the services available to readers and authors.

Although they share a common publisher, the editorial offices of the AMA journals are located at various medical and academic institutions nationwide. Each functions independently, with editorial policy set by the journal's editor and editorial board. Processing and production for all journals are coordinated at the AMA's Chicago office. Each editor and editorial board meets annually with George D. Lundberg, MD, vice-president of Scientific Information, John T. Baker, vice-president of Publishing and Marketing, Gabriela Radulescu, managing editor and director of the Specialty Journal Department, and the production
