Abstract

Special Summer Program.—  The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge) will hold a program on the biophysical and biological basis, application, and hazards of the nonionizing radiations in medicine and industry on Aug 8 through 12,1988. The course will emphasize practical considerations in safe and effective use of lasers, microwaves, ultraviolet light, magnetic fields, and ultrasound in medical and industrial practice as well as compliance with federal and state regulations. International Congress Announced.—  The first International Congress of the North American Society of Phlebiology will be held on Feb 20 and 21, 1988, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel—Harbor Island, San Diego.
