Letter to the Editor Title Correction Made in Error

JAMA Dermatol. 2020;156(1):104. doi:10.1001/jamadermatol.2019.4522

In the Letter to the Editor originally published online on August 7, 2019, and in the September print issue of JAMA Dermatology as “Preoperative Topical Decolonization—An Additional Strategy to Reduce Oral Antibiotic Prophylaxis for Mohs Infections?”1 that original title was correct. While the Discussion section of the article by Barbieri et al2—the article that prompted the Letter to the Editor—focuses on perioperative and postoperative antibiotic use, and acknowledges in its Limitations section its inability to link preoperative antibiotics prescribed at the time of consultation prior to the surgical appointment, the focus of the Letter to the Editor1 was nonetheless on preoperative antibiotic use. The correction published in the November print issue of JAMA Dermatology, changing the first word in the title to “Postoperative,”3 was made in error. The correct title has been restored online.
