Czerwenka et al1 have recently shown that amoxicillin is to be added to the list of drugs that can induce aseptic meningitis. As mentioned in our review,2 the fact that the culprit drug is an antibiotic poses a challenge to the clinician, who has to weigh the risk of withdrawing an antibiotic against the possibility of facing an infectious meningitis. The reason the article was not included in our review is that it was published while our manuscript was in press. The list of drugs that induce meningitis will likely continue to grow as the clinician's awareness of this problem increases.
