Matz revisits the subject of possible cardiac effects of sulfonylureas and cites recent animal studies. Although there is experimental evidence that sulfonylureas might interfere with ischemic myocardial "preconditioning," there is also abundant evidence for antiarrhythmic effects of sulfonylureas in several animal models of ischemic injury.1-3
