To the Editor I thank Dr Cannon for sharing his experience1 of receiving colorectal cancer (CRC) screening, which involved nudges from family members and underscored the complexity of the very services we espouse for saving lives. His type of experience, including the relative lack of transparency about out-of-pocket cost, is sadly not unique, contributes to people not completing their colonoscopy after receiving a referral, and likely pales in comparison to that of low-income and low-education people.
