To the Editor In a Research Letter published in a recent issue of JAMA Internal Medicine, Coronel et al1 present an elegant quality improvement study to decrease the inappropriate use of proton pump inhibitor (PPI) infusions.1 Infusions were considered appropriate in patients with suspected upper gastrointestinal bleeding before endoscopy and in patients with ulcerated lesions with high-risk features on endoscopy.
