Total Dietary Regulation in the Treatment of Diabetes.

The monograph opens with a history of diabetes written from the standpoint of treatment which, with bibliography, fills seventy-eight pages. It is stated in the preface that it was written as the opening chapter of a treatise in three parts, and that it was to have been followed by chapters which do not appear in the present volume. The latter, according to the original plan, would have been published in a separate section. The history is followed by a detailed exposition of the management of diabetic patients as carried out in the Rockefeller Institute. Following this there are 284 closely printed pages and numerous charts devoted to the clinical records in full of seventy-five cases of diabetes treated at the same institution.
