Geriatrics is very much to the fore these days, and it is useful to have in print the deliberations of a group of experts. This volume deals with problems of aging as brought out in the conference held in February, 1951, and sponsored by the Josiah Macy, Jr., Foundation. Endocrine aspects, cardiovascular aspects, etc., are dealt with in considerable detail but in this particular symposium not much is taken up on the sociological, economic, or occupational side. The reviewer is not enthusiastic about the use of the Socratic dialogue in dealing with this material. There is much lost motion, and inconsequential things creep in, such as the following:
