Abstract

This book should interest not only neurophysiologists but also pharmacologists and physiologists generally as well as all who are concerned with bioelectric phenomena. The Transactions include a discussion of the electrical and biochemical similarities and differences between synoptic transmission and axonal conduction and the structure of synoptic functions. It is possible to learn from this "Transactions of the Third Conference on Nerve Impulse" not only the state of our knowledge today concerning these problems but also the reactions to existing concepts of many persons interested in these problems. This book is recommended to those who wish to learn more about these selected aspects of the nerve impulse transmission.
