This little book includes a lot of useful material about the general examination of patients. It is not exactly a textbook of physical diagnosis but reminds one more of such books as that by Seifert and Mueller. The number of editions through which it has passed since 1936 testifies to the popularity of the book, at least in England. The illustrations are excellent and there is an index. Nonetheless, this does not seem to add a great deal to books which are readily available in this country.
