This small book is exactly what is stated in the title—a manual—and is an excellent one. The author aims his efforts at the general practitioner and the general surgeon, and he has accomplished his mission ably. The reviewer might add that medical student and house officer, too, will find practical information in this book, especially since controversial subjects have been omitted.
It is difficult indeed for the reviewer to understand how the author has gathered so much pertinent material into a small volume.
