This work is the 14th annual edition of a compendium of therapy which fills a unique need in the medical literature. It makes available to the practicing physician compact discussions of the current methods of therapy used by 307 carefully selected clinicians for nearly 400 of the more common medical disorders. The articles are often more detailed than sections of general medical texts. The book is divided into parts that describe treatment for infectious, respiratory, cardiovascular, hematologic, digestive, metabolic, endocrine, urogenital, venereal, allergic, dermatologic, nervous, locomotor, obstetric, and gynecologic diseases and physical and chemical injuries. There is a very good section devoted to poisoning, containing listings of toxic substances in household items and commercial products with specific therapy described for each ingredient. A table of pediatric doses is included.
