This is the Third Edition of this Textbook of Neurology, which was first published in 1955. The author has maintained the same format which he followed in his previous two editions; however, there have been extensive additions and revisions in several sections. The ten chapters are divided on the basis of etiological classification. This allows quick reference to a specific entity, either through the table of contents or the rather extensive 46-page index.
The author has done a commendable job of stressing the more common neurological diseases. The reader is able to find a quick source of material in the references, which follow the discussions of individual diseases, so that further reading on the rarer types of neurological problems can be accomplished with ease.
The section on cerebral vascular disease has been revised and expanded to include a general discussion of the newer anastomotic channels in the cerebral circulation. Also
