As I read this book, I used, either by chance or by design, a copy of the pamphlet entitled "Invasion of an Idea" as a bookmark. This bulletin relates some frightening statistics which form an interesting background from which to view the book on malnutrition and food habits. For example, in Christ's day 250,000,000 people lived on earth and it took 16 centuries for this number to double. The next doubling occurred in only two centuries and the next in 80 years. There now are about billion people on earth, and if the current rate of increase continues the population will double again in 38 years.
Basically, this book on malnutrition is very well done. It describes the problems of malnutrition as seen from the standpoint of the public health official, the food technologist, the agricultural worker, and the physician, as well as the
