This volume represents the proceedings of the Second International Symposium on Pyelonephritis held on June 5th and 6th, 1964, under the auspices of the Channing Laboratory of the Boston City Hospital. The previous meeting was held at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and it was the general feeling of those interested in the field that progress had been sufficient to indicate a second meeting. This time those interested in the problems of pyelonephritis were assembled from all over the United States and in fact all over the world. The list of contributors is most impressive and represented a very active and enlightened group on the problems of pyelonephritis. The editor is to be congratulated not only on the excellent volume which is now available to all interested in this field of renal disease but also on organizing both this and the previous International Symposium.
