The major part of the textual material in this book consists of brief clinical descriptions of a complete assortment of hematologic disorders. Less emphasis is placed on the physiology of the blood-forming organs and the metabolic defects associated with the various diseases discussed. In general, the reference list for each chapter is short and not up-to-date. The volume does not supply the reader with any more information than can be obtained from the hematology section of the two major textbooks of internal medicine, recently published.
