Pathology Annual 1966 represents the first volume in a new and different series. The book consists of 14 essays by experienced pathologists in their field of special interest and is designed to aid the practicing pathologist who is ultimately responsible for diagnosis. The essays are generally well written and illustrated. The main disadvantage in this type of an annual is the wide range of subjects covered. Most of the topics will be of interest to pathologists, but only selected topics will be of interest to individuals in other fields of medicine. If this series is continued, it will be an excellent source for review articles which are much more detailed than textbooks and broader in scope than journal articles. Most of the authors have taken the liberty to interpret their own research and integrate it in a meaningful way with the existing literature.
