Abstract

This text is written by an ophthalmologist with an impressive background in the diagnosis and management of the glaucomas. He has compressed his experience into an excellent small book that reads like a lecture. As a result, he is able to take the reader by the hand and lead him on a well-conducted tour along the pathways of glaucoma. It is undoubtedly true that if patients were managed in accordance with the principles outlined by Leydhecker, they would be well treated.

One significant deficiency noted in this book is lack of references. The interested reader cannot document statements made by the author that do not correlate with one's personal experience.
