Doctor C. Wesley Eisele has edited this remarkable new volume which is the first work in its field. Fifty-five contributors graphically describe their roles as staff members in hospitals of various sizes. This unique volume is aimed at improving the quality of patient care through the development of a better understanding of all aspects of staff work in the modern hospital. The point is made that the impact of research in the field of staff organization and functions upon the quality of medical practice in this nation is very apt to outweigh the result of much laboratory investigation that is now handsomely supported financially.
To a certain extent, the material is based upon conferences directed by Eisele and held at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1960 and 1964, and in 1965 and 1966 at Estes Park, Colorado.
