This is a compilation of papers and associated discussion presented in October 1964; it cannot be recommended for most clinicians. Those physicians and allied scientists engaged in research regarding the etiology of multiple sclerosis or interested in the epidemiology of chronic disease may find this small book useful.
The net impact of this modest compendium is to raise many questions and suggest multiple avenues for further research. Unfortunately, it amounts to a revelation of the pervading darkness which continues to surround the etiology of this distressing disease.
