This is a report of the proceedings of a symposium held at the Royal College of Physicians in London in May 1968. It was a convocation of distinguished representatives from the disciplines of nutrition and gerontology. The modest compendium approaches the broad subject from clinical and biochemical aspects, but Sir Charles Dodds, one of the chairmen, cautioned about lack of coordination in research efforts and asked for "closer knit cooperation."
