This book is the product of a symposium involving 48 outstanding contributors from throughout the western scientific world. The preface delineates its aims to present "a detailed account of the techniques used for the investigation of genital anomalies together with a review of the various clinical conditions associated with disorders of sexual development." It further aimed to supply references for important contributions following the symposium and before publication. The book fulfills the aims well in its 40 chapters. It is replete with pertinent photographs, photomicrographs, figures, drawings, and other supports used by teachers to clarify otherwise difficult material. Although the chapters stand independently, similar subjects are grouped together. Indices include (1) Index of Illustrations, (2) Author Index, and (3) Subject Index.
There is irregularity in the references in various chapters, some give and some omit the titles of the reference, but there are ample references. This book should serve as
