Abstract

The disturbances associated with mineral metabolism in uremia are examined in terms of alterations which may affect the adenyl cyclase system, calcium-activated ATPase, and divalent cation binding. The participation of these mechanisms in physiological regulatory processes and their potential for alteration in uremia are discussed.
