This is the hard cover report of the Second Cardiovascular Symposium sponsored by the St. Barnabas Hospital, New York city. It is a very proper symposium. Fifty-eight contributors including an appropriate proportion of "big names," a dollip of international flavor (Verona, London, Zurich, and Houston) and an introductory speech that has equal parts folksiness, dandy advice, and salty urologic humor.
Actually it is a fine package of communications. But it has all been written and said before, and one grows weary of "books" that consist of edited symposia. This is better than most; it is a tidy review of current thought in cardiology.
